The trail passes through lush rhododendron forests, terraced hillsides, rivers, and traditional Gurung and Magar villages, making it a perfect blend of natural beauty and rich local culture. The journey usually begins from Pokhara via Nayapul or Tikhedhunga, passing through Ulleri’s famous stone steps, Ghorepani village, and finally reaching Poon Hill for the iconic sunrise experience. After the highlight, the trek continues through Tadapani and Ghandruk village before returning to Pokhara.

ITINERARY

Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu (1,350m)

Upon arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by our representative and transferred to your hotel in Kathmandu. After check-in, you can rest or explore nearby areas like Thamel. In the evening, there will be a short trek briefing regarding the itinerary, route, safety, and preparation. Overnight stay in Kathmandu.

Day 2: Drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara (822m)

After breakfast, we begin a scenic drive to Pokhara, a beautiful lakeside city in the Annapurna region. The journey takes around 6–7 hours depending on road conditions. On arrival, you can relax by Phewa Lake or explore the city. Overnight stay in Pokhara.

Day 3: Drive to Tikhedhunga (1,540m) & Trek to Ulleri (2,050m)

After breakfast in Pokhara, we drive to Tikhedhunga, the starting point of the trek. From here, we begin trekking uphill. The trail passes through small villages and waterfalls before reaching Ulleri, famous for its long stone staircases. Overnight stay in Ulleri.

Day 4: Trek from Ulleri to Ghorepani (2,860m)

Today’s trek continues through beautiful rhododendron and oak forests. The trail gradually ascends with occasional village stops and mountain views. Ghorepani village is a major stop along the Annapurna region and offers stunning views of surrounding peaks. Overnight stay in Ghorepani.

Day 5: Poon Hill Sunrise (3,210m) & Trek to Tadapani (2,630m)

Early in the morning, we hike up to Poon Hill for a breathtaking sunrise view over the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges. After enjoying the view and taking photos, we return to Ghorepani for breakfast and continue trekking towards Tadapani through forests and ridges. Overnight stay in Tadapani.

Day 6: Trek to Ghandruk (1,940m) & Drive to Pokhara

After breakfast, we descend through lush forests and traditional villages to Ghandruk, one of the most beautiful Gurung villages in Nepal. We explore the village, enjoy mountain views, and learn about local culture. Later, we drive back to Pokhara. Overnight stay in Pokhara.

Day 7: Drive from Pokhara to Kathmandu

After breakfast, we take a scenic drive back to Kathmandu. Upon arrival, you can relax, shop, or explore the city at your own pace. Overnight stay in Kathmandu.

Day 8: Final Departure

Our representative will transfer you to Tribhuvan International Airport for your onward journey. End of the memorable Ghorepani Poonhill Trek with Shivadip Travels.
