The Langtang Valley and Gosaikunda Lake Trek – 16 Days, organized by Shivadip Travels, is one of Nepal’s most beautiful and culturally rich Himalayan trekking journeys. This trek combines glacier valleys, sacred lakes, mountain scenery, and traditional mountain culture, making it a perfect choice for trekkers who want both adventure and spirituality in one package.
Starting from Kathmandu, the journey takes you through a scenic drive to Syabrubesi, the gateway to the Langtang region. From here, the trekking trail gradually enters the heart of Langtang National Park, where dense forests of rhododendron, bamboo, and pine create a peaceful natural environment. Along the way, you will experience authentic Tamang and Tibetan-influenced villages, giving deep insight into local Himalayan culture and lifestyle.
As the trek progresses, you will reach the stunning Langtang Valley, also known as the “Valley of Glaciers.” This region is surrounded by towering snow-covered peaks and dramatic landscapes. You will explore important destinations such as Langtang Village and the spiritual hub of Kyanjin Gompa, where you can visit monasteries, yak pastures, and a local cheese factory.
One of the most exciting parts of this trek is the hike to high viewpoints:
- Kyanjin Ri (4,773m) – offers sunrise views over Langtang Himalayas
- Tserko Ri (4,984m) – the highest viewpoint with 360° Himalayan panorama
After exploring Langtang Valley, the journey continues towards the sacred alpine destination, Gosaikunda Lake (4,380m). This holy lake holds deep religious importance for both Hindus and Buddhists. According to mythology, it was created by Lord Shiva, making it one of Nepal’s most spiritual trekking destinations. Every year, thousands of pilgrims visit this lake during the Janai Purnima festival.
The trek also includes crossing the challenging Laurebina La Pass (4,610m), which connects Langtang Valley with the Gosaikunda region, offering breathtaking mountain views and a true Himalayan adventure experience.
